My name is Brett Herman, and I am the Founder and Whiskey Steward of Pair'd Whiskey Events.

Pair'd Whiskey Events was born from a passion for sharing and educating others about the vast, complex, and often underappreciated world of whiskey.

My own whiskey journey began the day I reached legal drinking age and shared a Dewar's and soda with my grandfather. At the time, I had no idea that simple drink would spark a fascination that would continue to grow for nearly two decades.

For years, Dewar's and soda remained my go-to order. Then, in 2016, while out to dinner with my family, I decided to try something different. That choice changed everything.

I ordered a pour of Michter's 10 Year Bourbon.

From the first sip, I was captivated. The rich, silky texture coated my palate with notes of vanilla custard and soft cinnamon. As the whiskey lingered, subtle hints of orange peel, leather, and tobacco emerged, culminating in what bourbon enthusiasts affectionately call the "Kentucky Hug"—a warm, welcoming sensation that stays with you long after the glass is empty.

The ability to recognize, understand, and describe those flavors wasn't something that happened overnight. It has taken years of tasting, learning, and studying the craft to develop that appreciation and vocabulary.

That experience is what inspired Pair'd Whiskey Events.

Our goal is simple: to ignite the same spark in others that was ignited in me. Whether your journey leads you to Scotch, Irish whiskey, Bourbon, Japanese whisky, American whiskey, or another style entirely, we strive to create memorable experiences that educate, entertain, and deepen your appreciation for this remarkable spirit.
